Andrew “Drew” Werner offers a background of fundraising, advocacy, and public service through years of personal and professional commitment to empowering diverse and inclusive communities. In addition to his 26-year tenure in education, care, and treatment for people infected and affected by HIV disease, Werner seeks to elevate awareness about issues connected to transgender (TGNCNB) communities, antiracism, people with disabilities, and intersectionality.

In his 15th year with Janssen Infectious Diseases and Vaccines of Johnson & Johnson, Werner says about his career, “My passion is my profession.” Three times, Drew has received the company’s highest leadership and performance award as well as numerous recognitions for cross-team collaboration, diversity education, communication, and technology training. Werner earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Portuguese as well as a Master of Science in Higher Education from The University of Tennessee. He then completed a Specialist in Education degree and further doctoral-level studies in Higher Education at Florida State University where he was a Graduate Fellow with The Hardee Center for Leadership and Ethics in Higher Education.

Drew is an active member of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and a nursing student at Miami Dade College. A self-proclaimed ‘science nerd,’ he enjoys the beach, motorcycling, reading, traveling, and spending time at home with his partner, Shai Tertner, and their four rescue dogs he lovingly refers to as “The Monsters.”
