Research and Data Coordinator
SAGE is the world’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ elders. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in New York City, SAGE is a national organization as well as a local readministered in New York City that offers supportive services and consumer resources for LGBTQ+ elders and their caregivers, advocates for public policy changes that address the needs of LGBTQ+ older people and provides cultural competency training for aging providers and LGBTQ+ organizations.
Launched in 2022, SAGE’s Center of Excellence (CoE) is designed to harness SAGE’s 40+ years of experience working with LGBTQ+ older people and utilize the full depth of these learnings to inform our own work and more importantly, improve the field of LGBTQ+ aging across the world. The work encompasses SAGE’s internal evaluation and impact work, external research partnerships, and a newly launched Equity Innovation Lab (EIL).
Overview: The Research and Data Coordinator, reporting to the Director of Research and Impact, will be part of the Center of Excellence team. The role will provide significant support to the new EIL program and efforts around research and impact. The coordinator will play an essential role in the growth of the CoE, particularly in providing critical support to the EIL and research programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Equity Innovation Lab grant program administration activities, including but not limited to
- Conducting outreach and recruitment to solicit applicants
- Publishing and monitoring grant applications
- Scheduling meetings
- Managing grantee contracts and overseeing funding disbursement
- Supporting technical assistance and training sessions
- Building relationships with applicants, grantees, and their communities
- Collecting and synthesizing applicant and grantee feedback and learnings for program evaluation
- Monitoring and maintaining research opportunity inquiries, posts, principal investigator correspondence, and calendar
- Tracking research funding opportunities
- Collecting and updating research and secondary data repository
- Supporting research activities such as literature reviews, and entry-level qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Overseeing the dissemination of all research-related publications and reports
- Coordinating Strategic Plan Impact Report data collection
- Supporting ongoing CoE project management
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or substantial work experience in a relevant field
- Two (2) years of experience in A) program, research, or data coordination B); the LGBTQ+ or aging fields, and/or C) administrative support
- Flexible and dependable – this position requires occasional evening hours, but the regular daily hours are Monday – Friday, flexibly scheduled around an Eastern time zone business day
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Ability to work under own initiative and as a member of a team
- Strong communication skills, including written correspondence
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow through on tasks without supervision
- Computer proficient, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- A commitment to the mission and values of SAGE
Preferred
- Experience creating online forms and surveys (FormAssembly preferred)
- Experience using data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
- Experience using project management tools (Click-Up or Smartsheet preferred)
- Experience using Salesforce database or similar CRM
- Working use of a language other than English
Reports to: Director of Research and Impact
Status: Full-time / Nonexempt
Salary Range: $39,528-$45k
Location: Remote, NYC-based, or hybrid. Ability to participate in East Coast time meetings required
