Older Americans Month 2025: Flip the Script on Aging
Here at SAGE, we know that aging is something to take PRIDE in. Our community’s fabulous LGBTQ+ elders are living proof that aging isn’t scary – it’s something to celebrate!
This May, the Administration for Community Living (ACL)’s theme for Older Americans Month is “Flip the Script on Aging”, which explores how society discusses aging, and encourages people to challenge the stigmas and connotations of getting older.
Aging is fierce: As we live through life’s experiences, we better understand who we are, and how we want to live. We grow wiser, we get bolder, and we better understand who we want to include in our lives.
To highlight the positive side of aging, SAGE has created a social media toolkit with affirmations about why growing older is beautiful. Please share these graphics with your networks all month long!
