[New York, NY] Today the Supreme Court upheld President Trump’s ban on travelers from Muslim nations. This afternoon, SAGE stood with Muslim advocates on the steps of the Supreme Court to show our opposition to the travel ban and to demonstrate our continued support for all Muslims who wish to come to our country.
“The Muslim travel ban is inhumane and un-American. LGBTQ+ elders come from many backgrounds—they are immigrants, refugees, and people of all ethnicities, faiths, genders, sexual orientations, and gender identities,” says SAGE CEO Michael Adams. ”We are not divided by our differences but united by our shared community values and our diversity. SAGE stands against the Muslim ban and will continue to combat this ban and all forms of discrimination.”
SAGE spoke out against the Trump administration’s first attempt to ban Muslims from entering the United States in January 2017. We opposed the administration’s efforts as inhumane, and we have maintained that position over the past 18 months.
