Interim Facilities Maintenance Coordinator
SAGE is the world’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer or questioning (LGBTQ+) older people. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in New York City, SAGE is a national organization that offers supportive services and consumer resources to LGBTQ+ older adults and their caregivers, advocates for public policy changes that address the needs of LGBTQ+ older people, provide education and technical assistance for aging providers and LGBTQ+ organizations through its National Resource Center on LGBTQ+ Aging, and cultural competence training through SAGECare.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of system operations for HVAC, fire panel, security alarm, fire sprinkler, and kitchen equipment: commercial hot/cold table, dishwasher, and refrigerator/freezer
- Knowledge and expertise to address basic painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and maintenance repairs
- Reference, monitor, and update ticketing system to determine work order priorities
- Coordinate vendor site visits and act as point day of. Monitor vendor while onsite and provide progress reports to supervisor
- Conduct monthly maintenance quality assurance site visits and report findings
- Ensure compliance with all security, fire, and safety regulations
- Assemble and move furniture, shelving, and equipment within the office; hangs pictures, bulletin boards, etc.
- Assist with opening and/or closing an NYC location on an as-needed basis
- Assist with new hire onboarding; provide necessary access and office/desk set up
- Inventory, replenish, and organize cleaning and maintenance supplies
- Log and distribute parcels delivered to SAGE’s headquarters
Related Skill/Knowledge:
- Ability to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate basic tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects.
- Flexible and dependable – this position requires some flexibility around scheduling; some morning/evening or occasional weekend hours may be required.
- Ability to communicate via text messaging.
- Computer-literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
Reports to: Director of Facilities and Office Services
Status: Full-time/Non-Exempt
Location: All NYC SAGE Locations (Midtown, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Harlem). May require travel between SAGE sites within the same day.
Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours/week; generally, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM Monday – Friday. Schedule changes and/or work on Saturdays/Sundays, as needed.
Salary range:$39,528-$49,410
