Teresa Theophano is a licensed social worker who joined the staff of SAGE in late 2013. She helps oversee the provision of case management services to LGBT older adults and their family caregivers alongside carrying a small client caseload and facilitating support groups. Also a freelance writer and editor, Teresa earned her MSW from the Hunter College School of Social Work–now Silberman–the same year that her first book Queer Quotes (Beacon Press, 2004) was published. She has worked and volunteered with LGBTQ communities at numerous organizations and taught as an adjunct professor at the New York City College of Technology, part of the City University of New York. Teresa currently serves on the board of directors of a local queer homeless youth shelter, and her second book, the co-edited anthology Headcase: LGBTQ Writers and Artists on Mental Health and Wellness, is forthcoming from Oxford University Press.
