JB joins SAGE with over 15 years of experience working in mission-driven nonprofits, leading teams and donors to take a community-centric approach to fundraising in the LGBTQ, education, and poverty-alleviation spaces. Most recently, JB spent four years at The Trevor Project, leading an individual, community, and peer-to-peer giving team that was able to triple revenue in that time. Before this, JB worked at the NYU Stern School of Business on the Development and Alumni Relations Team, raising critical funds for academic programs and student scholarships. As the Deputy Executive Director of the National Youth Advocacy Coalition, JB worked nationwide for LGBTQ youth community mobilization, health and wellness education, disease prevention, and civic engagement initiatives.
JB believes in the power of bringing your authentic self to work. As a queer, genderqueer, mixed-race person, JB is deeply committed to social justice. It has found its true calling in building resources for organizations that bring meaning, access, education, safety, and health to our communities. JB earned their Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in political science and LGBTQ studies. They now live in Maplewood, NJ, with their wife and toddler and try to keep up with sci-fi literature and the Marvel universe while also studying mindfulness practices, planning family playdates, dancing to house music, singing show tunes, and finding new recipes to bake with their kid.
