Cherise Sherriffe currently serves as the Program Coordinator for the SAGE Center Bronx. Cherise left SAGE for over a year and while gone, worked as an Assistant Director with University Settlement lower east side senior center. Cherise is a graduate of the College of New Rochelle, where received a BA in Psychology and an MS in Gerontology. She is currently pursuing an MSW online
A career-long advocate for the disenfranchised, Cherise is an experienced Program Coordinator, Recreational Coordinator and Case Manager having worked with the Bellevue Hospital as a clerk before pursuing a career in human service. Cherise also worked for 1180 Retiree Division, East Side House Settlement House, Project FIND and Mid-Bronx Council for Senior Citizens.
Cherise is married and the mother of two adult children, two grandchildren yet she continues to commit herself to the entertaining, education and enrichment of the lives of the elderly and disenfranchised and promotes awareness through Gerontology programming. She is an author, artist, mentor and leader in the community where she continues to volunteer by conducting workshops for older adults who want to explore their inner artist! She also enjoys adult coloring salsa dancing, the Turner Classic Movies channel, roller-skating, traveling to new places.
Cherise created a resource 2012 book for older adults and working on a updated version for 2020.
