Basil Vaughn Soper is a southern man of transgender experience, a multidisciplinary producer, and a storyteller. He specializes in many areas, such as communications and media, web design, public speaking, community organizing, digital humanities, outreach, nonfiction writing, poetry, digital media production/editing, and community engagement and building skills.

He received a BA in Creative Writing from The New School and an MA from the Graduate School of Arts and Science of NYU in the XE: Experimental Humanities and Social Engagement program. His thesis project, If the Creek Don’t Rise: Collective History and Prison Abolition in the Southeast, is a microcosm of memory culture and a call for building a world without prisons.

He is the founder of Transilient. The project is a multimedia trans-led documentary project that aims to change the narrative around trans lives letting the world know we are #MoreThanTrans.
