About SAGE Milwaukee

Founded in 1994, SAGE Milwaukee began as an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) elders in southeastern Wisconsin. SAGE Milwaukee became a program of Milwaukee LGBT Community Center in mid 2013.As an organization we strive to advocate for GLBT elders; to provide social events to build community; and to offer case management and counseling services. SAGE Milwaukee is committed to advancing the quality of life for older adults who are gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender.

Recent Highlights

SAGE Milwaukee partners with Milwaukee County Department on Aging (MCDA), Interfaith Older Adult Program, Alzheimer’s Association, AARP and many senior service providers in the Milwaukee area. In 2015, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee professor Mark Williams, PhD partnered with the Milwaukee Center and SAGE to survey older LGBT+ adults. Results are published at
