Al Rosenberg

Food Service Coordinator, The SAGE Center

Al Rosenberg is the Food Service Coordinator at The SAGE Center, the nation’s first full-time center for LGBT older adults. Established in 2012 through a New York City Department for the Aging Innovative Senior Center initiative, the center provides a diverse range of services and programming including arts and culture, food and nutrition, fitness, health and wellness, and lifelong education.  The SAGE Center serves dinner for LGBT older adults Monday through Friday from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.  Al oversees the daily food service and other food-related events at the Center to ensure food is properly held and handled to keep everything delicious and safe to eat.

Al came to SAGE by way of Whole Foods Market where he spent the last few years as assistant manager of various Whole Foods Bakeries around Manhattan.  He has a bachelor’s degree in music from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, which is in no way relevant to his current position.  Al lives with his cat, Sargent Snuggles, two bikes, and various roommates in Brooklyn, NY.
