Reports to: Director of Resident Services, NYC Housing
Status: Full-time / Nonexempt
Salary Range: $41k- $51K
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide light touch case management, information, referrals, and advocacy to older adults; perform intakes/assessments under the review of a Licensed Social Worker home visits and provide case management to SAGE constituents
- Conduct of benefit and entitlement eligibility assessments, and assist clients with public benefits applications and other entitlement programs and opportunities
- Conduct group workshops/programs/support groups as needed
- Collect and enter all participant and service unit data in database(s) thoroughly and timely, in accord with organizational policies and regulatory mandates
- Perform tabling and other outreach at neighborhood events
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned
- Assessing older adult needs and developing care plan strategies
- Providing support and resources, good relationships with external providers and developing linkages to community resources
- Research and referrals based on the care plan goals
- Assisting with benefits such as Access A Ride or Visiting Nurse services, Meals on Wheels
- Responding to crisis situations, developing follow up report details and
- Communicating with family members and other stakeholders involved in the older adults’ care plan
Required Skills/Qualifications
- BA or work experience in the human services field, job role and/or population served
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Flexible and dependable – this position requires some flexibility around scheduling; some evening or occasional weekend hours may be
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to organize files, schedules, dates and information.
- Self-directed and able to work with light supervision.
- Computer-literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn other pertinent software systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with LGBTQ+ aging issues and cultural and linguistic competency regarding age, ability, sexuality, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, class and other characteristics that affect the lives of diverse older
- Familiarity with social and aging services networks and
- Ability to speak or write in
Location
Position based at SAGE Ingersoll program location in Fort Greene, Brooklyn; travel between the above and other locations within the metropolitan area required, in accordance with Participants’ needs and program necessity.
Schedule
Full-time, 35 hours/week; generally, 8:30 – 4:30 Monday – Friday, with schedule adjustments as needed per program necessity

Position Type: This position is a Hybrid role three days a week.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM, occasional evening and weekend work will occur
Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000
Position Overview: The Major Gifts Officer is an integral member of the Development Department. Reporting to the Director of Major Gift & Planned Giving, the Major Gifts Officer is accountable for providing a wide range corporate fundraising and administrative management support for the organization, and specifically the Development department. The Major Gifts Officer assist in the assessment and execution of the agency’s fundraising goals, including annual campaigns, revenue generation around all organizational events, researching/prospecting new fundraising opportunities, and supporting other development activities as required. The MGO works with the Director of Major Gift,s & Planned Giving in managing all aspects of donor prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship and maintains a portfolio of donors giving $1500+ annually.
Duties /Responsibilities:
- Steward and cultivate SAGE’s major donors, including event donors across the country through virtual meetings, email, telephone calls, written proposals, and engagement activities
- Responsible for liaising with volunteer leadership to deliver SAGE’s collective fundraising and goals in key markets across the country including Palm Springs, Los Angeles, New York, South Florida, and other regions where needed
- Strengthen and evolve existing relationships with Investors Circle members and manage, prospect, and build new long-term advocates that result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals and priorities of SAGE
- Draft articles, reports, and emails to our donor list on SAGE’s work and solicitation and acknowledgment letters as needed
- Collaborate with the Director of Major Gifts & Planned Giving and Interim Senior Director of Development to ensure a consistent donor experience across all channels
- Manage the drafting, production, and mailing of quarterly stewardship mailings to prospects and donors and biannual direct mail solicitations to major gift prospects
- Create and manage all donor reports, including event revenue, board fundraising, and regular reporting on fiscal year goals
- Support SAGE leadership and board in soliciting significant gifts, including creating background documentation, compelling asks, and follow-up plans
- Improve upon a process-based, data-driven system, including using Salesforce to maximize fundraising efforts
- Serve as a backup resource, assist other team members on specific projects, and ensure and expedite the department’s workflow
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum of four years of nonprofit fundraising experience, including frontline fundraising, preferably at LGBTQ+, human services, advocacy, or similar organizations
- Excellent writing skills
- Professional with an entrepreneurial mindset and an ability to work well with diverse people
- Ability to plan, multi-task, manage workflow and produce under the pressure of deadlines and unexpected opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to work simultaneously on discrete projects and long-term goals
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle many details, focus on task completion and meet deadlines
- Prior experience in the LGBTQ+ or Aging community, especially in collaborating with other organizations and groups within the community to build partnerships and enhance fundraising activities
- Experience using Salesforce is a plus
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
