Sr. Program Coordinator – Edie Windsor SAGE Center
Create, plan, and implement programming for LGBTQ older adults at Edie Windsor SAGE Center with a focus on arts & culture programming. Collaborate with the Program Coordinator, Health & Wellness, to create, plan and implement programs for women, men and the trans/GNC communities and administration of special events and programs. Supports all art forms such as music, dance, visual arts, literature, theater, film & video, traditional crafts & folk arts, and new media. Must have considerable experience working with aging and/or LGBTQ communities and should ideally have experience in programmatic design and implementation. They must be able to interact with, relate to and work with LGBTQ older adults, community partners and other departments at SAGE.

Location: Edie Windsor SAGE Center, Midtown Manhattan
Status: Full-time / Nonexempt
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and promote Women’s Programming, in addition to Arts, Culture, Education, Recreation and Technology programming, at The Edie Windsor SAGE Center
- With the Program Coordinator, Health & Wellness, Plan, Coordinate and Promote innovative and sophisticated programming for older LGBTQ women, men and the Trans/GNC communities at The Edie Windsor SAGE Center
- Perform the duties of Site Director as needed when the Site Director is unavailable
- Develop rapport with LGBTQ older adult participants, by engaging with them regularly in the development and evaluation of programming
- Nurture a thriving environment for participation in Center programming and activities
- Develop relationships with community partners for the purpose of creating collaborative programming opportunities
- Build relationships with program volunteers and consultants, and provide program support, which may include moving audio/visual equipment and furniture, making copies, developing flyers, and other tasks
- Work independently and with team to meet programming goals and deadlines, including the calendar
- Become knowledgeable about all of SAGE’s services and programs, and make appropriate referrals
- Assist with food service distribution as needed and act as dining room host on a weekly basis
- Serve as a resource to all SAGE Center Program Coordinators (all sites), providing non-supervisory advice and guidance as requested
- Represent SAGE at community events and conferences (e.g. health fairs, pride festivals) as needed
- May be assigned other tasks and duties related to their job responsibilities
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree with major course work in Arts & Culture or aging is preferred; Substantial work experience in relevant field may be substituted for degree
- Experience: Two (2) years of experience in aging field, LGBTQ service or in program development, in addition to above
- Flexible and dependable – This position requires occasional special event hours but the daily regular hours are Monday – Friday, 12pm-8pm (and occasionally 11am-7pm or 10am-6pm)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work with SAGE’s diverse constituency
- Ability to work under own initiative and as a member of a team
- Strong communication skills, including public speaking
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to follow-through on tasks without supervision
- Computer proficient, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher
- A commitment to the mission and values of SAGE
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and manage programming for women as well as art & culture programming
- Familiarity with the history and issues facing marginalized older adults
- Working knowledge of NYC DFTA regulations and guidelines
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred
