Join us for our official 30th Birthday Party and First LGBT Senior Health Fair co-sponsored by Village Care of NY (VCNY), Mount Sinai Medical Center and The LGBT Community Center from 2-5pm. Health screenings, information, food, entertainment, prizes. Free! Come one, come all. Meet your friends, hang out and make a day of it.
Throughout the afternoon, LGBT seniors will enjoy learning new health information, receive free health screenings and meet culturally competent health providers in an atmosphere that they know is comforting, safe and supportive. Medical providers from Village Care, Mt. Sinai and other organizations from across the city will offer in-depth information about diabetes, heart disease, HIV, cancer and other issues and services that every senior should know about in order to be healthier.
We will have a brief program of community celebration at 3:45 PM with invited elected officials, and you, our special guests.
Speeches by SAGE executive director Michael Adams, Dr. Rosanne M. Leipzig (Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Adult Development at Mt. Sinai), and elected officials.
We will also enjoy some SAGE Birthday Cake and the singing of “Happy Birthday to SAGE” by the SAGE Singers—a group of SAGE members who have started a community based chorus.
