In local communities around the country
Our growing program of local SAGE affiliates, SAGENet, is based in 24 local communities across 16 states and every region of the country. SAGE affiliates provide critical services to elders in their communities, while engaging in policy advocacy at the local, state and federal level. In Washington, DC
SAGE's federal advocacy ensures that the unique needs of LGBT older adults are addressed in Congress and throughout the federal government. We coordinate gatherings of policymakers, release original policy analysis and publications, and work with leaders in the aging field and the LGBT rights movement to ensure that policymakers remain aware and responsive to our issues. From arts and culture, to health and wellness, and much more, SAGE's innovative services and programs support thousands of LGBT older people in all five boroughs of New York City. Additionally, our unique program in Harlem provides culturally and linguistically competent services to LGBT elders throughout Harlem's diverse communities.
