Carole RobinsonProgram Coordinator, The SAGE Center
Carole Robinson is a Program Coordinator at The SAGE Center, the nation’s first full-time center for LGBT older adults. Established in 2012 through a New York City Department for the Aging Innovative Senior Center initiative, the center provides a diverse range of services and programming including arts and culture, food and nutrition, fitness, health and wellness, and lifelong education. Carole works to bring educational and challenging programming to LGBT older adults throughout New York City through The SAGE Center's partnerships with agencies in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.
A retiree with more than two decades' experience in the nonprofit field, Carole came to SAGE through the ReServe program, an innovative nonprofit that matches continuing professionals age 55+ (ReServists) with organizations that need their expertise. Of her experience at SAGE, Carole said, "I find the working atmosphere to be so different from the nonprofit religious agency where I worked for more than 20 years. It is a pleasure to work with the LGBT population, which is so vibrant and engaging. I found new lease on life. I am so glad to be a part of the Innovative Center known as The SAGE Center."
