Gleni Garcia Taveras is the Comptroller at Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE ), the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT older adults. She came to SAGE through N. Cheng & Co., P.C., a consulting accounting firm that provides audit and financial management services to nonprofit clients.
As part of the Finance Department, Gleni manages financial records and monitors the income and expenditures of SAGE. Some of her many responsibilities include participating in monthly meetings with the Board of Directors’ Finance Committee members to review the monthly financials of SAGE, and working very closely with the senior directors to review their monthly reports related to their respective departments.
Garcia Taveras holds a degree in accounting from Lehman College. Prior to her work at SAGE, she worked with other nonprofit organizations providing similar services, including Immigration Equality, Gilda’s Club Worldwide, and many more.
