Patricia Fraser
Program Assistant, SAGE Harlempfraser@sageusa.org
Patricia Fraser is the Program Assistant at SAGE Harlem Center. Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE) is the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT older adults. The Harlem location extends services and programs to the people of color communities in Harlem, Bronx, and surrounding areas.
Patricia joined SAGE Harlem in January 2012. She is the first point of contact for constituents and visitors to the Harlem Branch. She assists the Program Manager with administrative tasks, supervises the volunteer program, and creates and manages new and existing programs and events. Getting to know older LGBT constituents has given her new perspectives on the fight for equality in the LGBT community, and influences her work in providing thoughtful, fun, and educational services and programs for the members.
Patricia comes to SAGE after more than 20 years in the child welfare industry. She has worked with children with disabilities and in foster care, and LGBT teens. She has held volunteer positions with the Women's Sports Foundation, the (former) Alliance for Mainstreaming Youth with Disabilities, and currently serves on the board of the Alumni Association of Hunter College. She shares her life with her partner Myrna and lives in Spanish Harlem.
